Non-Invasive Deep Tissue Laser Therapy
As many of you already know, Albany County Chiropractic Center has been offering LightForce Laser IV Therapy. Here is some more information for those who are considering our laser therapy.
This low-level, class IV laser penetrates deep into muscle, bone, and other tissues to temporarily stimulate energy on a cellular level. This increased energy allows the cell to regenerate at a much faster rate, speeding healing as it reduces pain and inflammation. Unlike a so-called "cold laser," there is a slight warmth that can also help to soothe insulted and injured tissues. The uses of a deep tissue laser are varied!
Sprains and strains
The tissues that tend toward sprains and strains are very often avascular, meaning that they have less blood supply than other tissues in the body. Due to the few number of blood vessels, healing in these areas can take a long time, relatively speaking. The deep tissue laser temporarily provides the damaged tissues what they need to heal more quickly, mimicking the effect of a higher blood supply.
Anything ending in "-itis"
Okay, not anything, but a great many of them. The suffix "-itis" indicates inflammation, and the deep tissue laser is very effective against inflammation. Arthritis, bursitis, tendonitis, plantar fasciitis, and even sinusitis can benefit from deep tissue laser therapy!
